She is a New Jersey Licensed Massage Therapist and a Certified Member of The American Massage and Bodywork Association. Katherine began her Massage Therapy career in 1996 after graduating from The Calistoga Massage Therapy School, by providing Massage Services in the gorgeous Day Saps in The Napa Valley, California. She initially started The Phoenix Institute of Massage & Bodywork in Moca, Dominican Republic in 2000. She graduated from La Escuela Neijing in 2006 with certificates in Acupuncture and Meridian Massage. She is also approved by the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) to teach Continued Education classes to Massage Therapists. She then brought her knowledge & experience to New Jersey in 2008 and founded Mind Your Body Wellness. Mind Your Body Wellness bridges the gap for effective pain and stress relief that is often overlooked as simply an everyday occurrence and is now overwhelming the population. You should receive an email confirmation from Mind Your Body immediately after successfully booking an appointment.  We recommend that you thoroughly complete your Intake information with your current health history and opt-in for text messages from us to receive confirmations, reminders, and special deals.  Don’t worry, we won’t spam you, and we keep all of your information private and secure.

You have several option in this area.
There is a small Municipal lot behind the building where the meters take quarters for up to 2 hours.
There is metered parking all along Bergenline avenue, although the signs say you can park for 2 hours the meters only accept 2 quarters=1 hour.
In both these instances it is always recommended that you download the “ParkMobile” App. Take a picture of your license plate and the 4-digit code on the meter in order to park and renew parking time.
There are metered and un metered parking on the cross streets as well.


You and your massage therapist will do a quick consult over the phone.

Do not enter the clinic until we confirm we are ready.

When you enter the clinic please use the restroom and wash your hands before checking in.

Please arrive a few minutes early to your appointment so you can feel relaxed and not in a rush. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first massage. Our front desk will check you in and make sure all your paperwork is complete for the massage therapist to review.  The front desk will also check your temperature. If your temperature is above 100°F, you’ll need to wait 2 weeks and reschedule your appointment. If you have any coupons or special offers, please let us know when you arrive.

Once everyone is ready, your massage therapist will come out to greet you and take you back to the treatment room. Your massage therapist will briefly instruct you on where to place your belongings and how the treatment will proceed.

Face masks must be worn by both you and the massage therapist.  If you have concerns about breathing comfort when you are face down, discuss this with your massage therapist.

In the privacy of the treatment room, you and your massage therapist will go over your information and reasons for seeking massage therapy.  Your massage therapist will ask you questions to customize your session to meet your specific needs and preferences.  You will have the opportunity to discuss any concerns or to ask any questions you may have about massage therapy.  Your massage therapist will then briefly go over a plan for your massage therapy session.  If you have any questions, feel free to speak up.

When you are ready, your massage therapist will exit the room to allow you privacy to undress or change and get comfortable on the massage table. You may prefer to completely disrobe or remain partially clothed.  Get comfortable on the massage table underneath the top sheet and blanket.  If any adjustments need to be made to the bolsters or face cradle, your massage therapist can help you when they come back in the room.

Every massage therapist has a unique style and approach to giving a massage.  Most massage therapists begin with some postural analysis and perhaps some gentle rocking and compressions through the sheets to help you settle in and relax.  Relaxing massage techniques may be used at first, and as you become more relaxed more specific areas of tension may be worked with deeper pressure.  Your therapist will periodically ask for feedback on pressure or techniques, and may gently move your limbs or make requests throughout the session.

You should expect to be comfortable and relaxed during your massage.  If you experience any pain or discomfort at any time, let your massage therapist know right away.  Speak up if the pressure needs adjusting, if you need an extra blanket, or if there is anything your massage therapist can do to help you relax.

Good communication is key to achieving the best results during your massage appointment.  This is your massage.  Be sure to give feedback to help your therapist meet your specific needs.  The more relaxed you are, the easier it is for us to do our job!  If there is anything your massage therapist can do to make you more comfortable, let them know.

Definitely communicate with your therapist if you feel any pain or discomfort, or if you have any concerns during your massage.  Some types of massage that work on deep layers of muscle and tissue, such as deep tissue or sports massage, will require more feedback to ensure that the pressure is not uncomfortable.

When your massage is complete, the massage therapist will set out a moist hot towel on a tray for you.  Your therapist will then exit the treatment room.  Slowly and carefully get off the massage table when you are ready.

You can freshen up with the hot towel, and then just leave it on the table when you’re done.  When you are dressed, open the door/curtain so it is slightly ajar to let your massage therapist know you are ready for them to come back in.

Once you massage therapist sees your door/curtain open, they will step back in for a quick follow up with you in the privacy of the massage room.

​You and your massage therapist will discuss how your session went, answer any questions you may have about your massage, and make any other notes for your next massage.  Everybody is different, so feel free to give your massage therapist honest feedback about what you like and what you don’t like about your massage.  Massage therapists are capable of some pretty amazing things, but we can’t read minds!

Checking Out

Once you are finished giving your massage therapist feedback, they will walk you back out to our front desk to check out. 

​If you would like to leave a tip, simply add the gratuity at checkout. Tipping is neither required nor expected, but of course we appreciate the gesture! However, the best appreciation you can show is by referring your Friends and Family to us and writing a review to let everyone know about your great massage!

Now is also the best time to schedule your next massage appointment.

It’s not a good idea to schedule a massage appointment if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Have a fever
  • Were recently involved in an accident
  • Are dizzy or nauseated
  • Are bruised or have wounds, rashes, or severe sunburn.

In these cases, it’s important to stabilize your medical condition first. After you have recovered, or the condition is under the management of a medical provider who agrees that massage would be helpful, you can call to schedule an appointment.

In general, medical concerns or conditions might mean the therapist needs to adapt the massage technique or length of session.

If you have a temporary or chronic health condition, it is important to select a therapist who demonstrates sensitivity to and an understanding of your conditions or symptoms. Many therapists have advanced massage training on how to provide an effective treatment protocol that will complement other treatments/efforts you are following to reduce or eliminate symptoms. (If you don’t already have a massage therapist, see the section: How Can I Find the Right Massage Therapist?)

Before you make an appointment, review the list of medical conditions below and inform your therapist if any of these conditions apply to you. Also be sure to let your therapist know who diagnosed your symptoms/conditions (your physician or primary care provider, a complementary therapy provider, or you, yourself).

It is important to let the therapist know if the conditions/symptoms are ongoing but managed effectively, or new and not managed effectively. To help you identify which is which, read the descriptions below.

Due to the unpredictability of Parking, please allow plenty of time before your appointment starts for your arrival.

Water and tea are available upon your arrival, please come in early and relax for a few moments.

After your therapist has met with you feel free to use the restroom.

As you get yourself ready for your session please use the supplied Make-up remover towels if you have any make-up on. All of your removable jewelry should come off as well and stored inside your personal items.

This session is all about you so communicate your needs with your therapist.
